This is how we celebrated Europe Day on May 9th, first among the children and young people of the neighbourhoods, and then with professionals. Two very different audiences, one single idea, bringing Europe where people actually live, starting from those who risk being left at its margins.

The first stop was the CEP neighbourhood in Palermo, where, alongside San Giovanni Apostolo Onlus, Orto Capovolto and the Municipality of Palermo, we gave the pedestrian area of Via Barisano da Trani back to the neighbourhood, a new space for socialising and coming together. For us, this is what active citizenship looks like in practice, a community taking care of its own shared spaces.

We then continued with an important training event aimed at journalists and social workers, to share stories and best practices about EU programmes for social inclusion and active citizenship. Informing those who inform and support others is part of our mission, the right to information has been at the heart of our work since our foundation.
