Introduction

The following Child Protection Policy was unanimously approved by the Executive Board on 20 November 2023, demonstrating the association’s commitment to providing a safe and stimulating environment for all children and young people who take part in its activities or with whom the Association comes into contact in any way or capacity.

By adopting this policy, InformaGiovani emphasises its dedication not only to the safety of minors but also to their personal growth and development through enriching and formative experiences of non-formal education, volunteering and mobility, both nationally and internationally. Ensuring the protection of minors and promoting their psychological and physical well-being in all contexts, including digital ones, remains at the heart of our mission.

  • Introduction
    1. The InformaGiovani association is dedicated to promoting opportunities for volunteering and national and international mobility for young people and children.
    2. Aware of the fundamental importance of ensuring a safe and supportive environment, we are committed to safeguarding the rights and well-being of all children involved in our activities, as well as, more generally, of all boys and girls.
    3. This Child and Youth Protection Policy reflects our commitment to operating in full compliance with the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the Italian Constitution and Italian laws, as well as actively promoting the psychological and physical well-being of minors, including in digital environments.
  • Purpose
  • This Policy sets out the rules and procedures for the protection and promotion of the well-being of minors, to be strictly observed by all InformaGiovani staff, by volunteers and trainees, in all voluntary work, national and international mobility, formal, informal and non-formal education, as well as in information and awareness-raising activities promoted by the Association or in which it is involved in any capacity.
  • Guiding Principles
    1. Health and Well-being: in addition to the best interests of the child, InformaGiovani places particular emphasis on promoting the health and psychological and physical well-being of children, recognising the importance of a holistic approach to their protection.
    2. Positive Environment: we are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that supports the personal and social development of children, encouraging their active participation in a context of safety and respect.
    3. Prevention by Default: the commitment to safeguarding the well-being of young people in all its forms must form the basis upon which all the Association’s activities are built, incorporating preventive measures at every stage of these activities, right from the moment of their conception, and ensuring appropriate measures are in place to manage any risks or situations that may in any way constitute a source of danger, stress or harm to the young participants or beneficiaries.
