Hi! My name is Alba, I am Spanish, I am 25 years old and I arrived in Sicily without really knowing what to expect, but convinced that it would not let me down.

I spent two months in a small town in the north of the island, Sant’Agata di Militello, working with Caritas in a summer camp for children, under the supervision of InformaGiovani. During this period we spent our mornings organising activities, games and songs with children aged 5 to 13,  in my case, every week I also made videos for the association’s Instagram profile.

Being in contact with the children was fun and demanding in equal measure, but I learned a lot from each of them , as well as learning about fifty new group dances and Italian songs!

I was lucky enough to share this experience with other volunteers like me and, every two weeks, a new group of ten volunteers started alongside us. These were months in which I met so many people and shared my time with young people from different cultures, but with values and interests similar to mine.
