Our volunteering camp, organised in collaboration with the Emmaus community in Villafranca di Verona, is running smoothly and turning a shared vision into concrete reality. International participants, local volunteers and the people welcomed by the Emmaus community are working and living side by side, embodying the spirit of solidarity and sustainability.

The volunteers are fully immersed in the daily life of the community, and they are contributing to:

  • collecting, sorting, repairing and preparing materials for the community’s solidarity flea market
  • taking care of the organic, zero mileage vegetable garden and taking turns in the community kitchen
  • giving a second life to common areas through gardening, painting and creative restyling

The bond growing between the young people from abroad and the local community is strong. By sharing both hard work and leisure time, the participants are discovering the social value of the circular economy as a tool for human dignity and inclusion.

Strengthening equality, rights and active citizenship across Europe is at the heart of our work, in the framework of the CERV programme, which stands for Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values. By fostering social entrepreneurship, supporting zero waste lifestyles and creating safe and inclusive spaces for people in marginalised situations, we continue to empower young people to build a fairer, more supportive society.
