At MuST23, a forum for discussion on projects focusing on the environment, participation and cooperation.
On 29 September, at MuST23 in Capaci, we organised an event dedicated to promoting European opportunities, with the aim of highlighting the role that European Union programmes can play in regional development and in supporting local initiatives. The event involved the local community, with the participation of Capaci’s local council, the university, partner organisations, associations active in the Palermo area, and our volunteer group made up of local and international volunteers. During the event, we reported on the activities carried out over the summer, sharing results, testimonies and reflections arising from the volunteering experiences at MuST23 alongside Addiopizzo Travel and at the Isola delle Femmine Nature Reserve, where young people from various countries supported environmental restoration projects carried out with the backing of LIPU (Italian Bird Protection League). The event provided an opportunity to recognise the contribution of volunteers and to foster dialogue between institutions, organisations and citizens, highlighting the value of international cooperation and active participation in the development of local communities. We believe that dialogue between different people, cultures and experiences is the starting point for creating new opportunities. That is why we look to the future with enthusiasm, taking with us what we have learnt and achieved together. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this journey and who helped to make it a meaningful experience for the whole community. The initiative was carried out as part of the CERV programme (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values).
