Amarante hosted the youth exchange “INCLUSION: Erasmus+ for all!”, funded by the European Union.

Throughout the week, sixteen young people aged 16 to 20 and four group leaders from different European countries took part in a programme focused on learning, creativity and shared experiences. Through Non Formal Education activities, participants collaborated in the development of cultural and community based initiatives within the Festival da Juventude de Amarante (Há Fest).

The exchange was organised by Aventura Marão Clube (AMC), a non profit association active since 1993 in promoting healthy lifestyles, sustainability, human rights, creativity and intercultural dialogue.

The INCLUSION: Erasmus+ for all! project aims to involve young people,  especially those with fewer opportunities or special needs, in an inclusive and creative way in the development of community based cultural events, through the application of Non Formal Education methodologies during the Amarante Youth Festival (HFest).

The programme also promotes healthier lifestyles, encouraging responsible consumption, active participation and outdoor activities such as hiking and canoeing, making the most of Amarante’s extraordinary natural landscapes, from the Marão, Aboboreira and Alvão mountain ranges to the Tâmega and Olo rivers.

Finally, the exchange strengthens digital skills, which are essential to increasing the visibility of the Erasmus+ Programme and European opportunities in the region, especially for young people.
