The training course we held in Filaga has come to an end, leaving us with a new generation of empowered young leaders ready to bring what they learned back to their communities and organisations.

This activity is part of our annual work plan funded by the CERV programme (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) of the European Union. The course was designed with a clear purpose: to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to promote democratic participation and human rights, within our international network and beyond.

During these days of intense work, based on non-formal education methods, we successfully focused on:

• group dynamics and inclusive leadership, to help leaders build teams where everyone can take part;
• conflict transformation, learning how to turn tensions into opportunities for dialogue;
• addressing and preventing gender-based violence within international activities, so that every project can be a safe environment for all participants.

We believe that training competent leaders is the best way to promote European values and ensure that every youth project becomes a safe space for growth and equality.
