A tool for educators and trainers As part of our accreditation for Erasmus+ Key Action 1, we have developed a series of practical, ready to use kits containing ideas, tools and non‑formal education activities on various themes. One of these kits is dedicated to those who deliver training activities for future coordinators of international projects. It addresses leadership, non violent communication, intercultural learning, inclusion, and conflict prevention and management. It is designed to best prepare those who need practical tools to use directly in the field. The programme offers activities and resources for youth workers, trainers and facilitators involved in managing exchanges, workshops and group activities. These are concrete proposals, designed to be used directly during group work. The toolkit brings together the work developed during two training courses we delivered in Filaga, in the province of Palermo. The two courses explored complementary aspects of facilitation and group management in international contexts. The first course, “Building Skills for Managing Multicultural Teams”, focused on leadership, communication, conflict management and intercultural learning within multicultural groups. The second course, “Skills for Self Empowerment and Leading Groups”, explored personal development and tools useful for facilitating work with young people. The programme emphasised participation, effective communication and the creation of safe environments. The toolkit presents twelve activities covering the following areas:
group building
leadership
communication
conflict management
interculturality
inclusion
The activities are designed to be easily adapted to different educational contexts and international groups. Facilitators can therefore adjust them according to the group composition, the time available and the project’s objectives. Our aim is to support those who facilitate international voluntary activities and projects. We want to offer concrete tools that foster participation, collaboration and awareness among the people involved.
