A Summer of Games, Inclusion and Participation

The volunteering activity promoted and hosted by InformaGiovani in Sant’Agata di Militello has come to an end, supporting
the local Caritas and children and young people from the area experiencing social and economic disadvantage.

Under the coordination of InformaGiovani, the volunteers worked alongside local Caritas staff and volunteers to organise and
run recreational activities, including games, sports and leisure activities. They also led dances, songs and group games, while
helping to prepare and set up the spaces for the different activities.

The volunteers also supported the management of the community warehouse and the distribution of food supplies, gaining first hand
experience of the work of a local organisation such as Caritas, which is committed to social inclusion and supporting the community
 every day.

An experience combining international volunteering, participation and recreational activities for younger members of the community.

The initiative was part of the VEIL CORPS project, co funded by the European Union.
